Did you know that strength training isn’t just about building muscles – it’s one of the most powerful things you can do to support your bones, energy, and long-term wellbeing?
Amongst the work I do, I’m also a personal trainer, and I love helping people connect with their energy and physical body to create real, lasting change. Strength training is an amazing way to do this – it not only empowers you today but also helps prevent illness and weakness down the track.
As we age, we naturally begin to lose bone density – around 1% per year after the age of 40, and often more rapidly for women after menopause. The great news is that resistance training – lifting weights, using resistance bands, or even your own body weight – helps strengthen bones and increase bone density, making them more resilient and less prone to injury.
Here’s how it works👇
When you lift weights, your muscles pull against your bones – and that gentle stress actually stimulates your bones to become stronger. This triggers special bone-building cells called osteoblasts, which create new bone tissue and increase bone density over time. In simple terms, every lift, press, and squat is literally telling your bones to grow stronger and stay solid.
When we lift, we’re sending a message to our body that says:
“Stay strong – I still need you!”
That strength goes far beyond the physical. Every time you challenge yourself, you also activate your Solar Plexus energy centre – the home of your personal power, confidence, and self-worth.
That’s why our Empowered Clothing Solar Plexus Chakra Top carries the affirmation:
“I choose to be empowered.”
It’s a beautiful reminder that true strength starts from within. When we move our bodies with purpose, we’re not just building bone and muscle – we’re also strengthening our sense of self, resilience, and inner light.
So this week, as you lift, stretch, or even take that first step toward building strength, remember:
💛You are empowering your body.
💛You are energising your Solar Plexus.
💛You are choosing you.
Because being strong isn’t just about how you look – it’s about how you live.
